Frosting Hint: Refrigerate Cake before frosting it
Cold Cake will be less "Crumby"
Start with a Crumb Coat (A thin layer of frosting)
This is really helpful when frosting over cake that has been cut and refrigerate again. Now you can frost the cake without the crumbs sticking to the knife.

idealightbulb.png

I use cardboard covered with foil (Either heavy duty aluminum foil or decorative foil ) or a plastic table cloth as a cake board. Cut apart cardboard boxes you can get free at any store that is stocking shelves. I usually use at LEAST 2 stacked pieces of cardboard taped together so they are sturdier.

Carrot Cupcakes

Simple, Easy
Swirl Orange Frosting and add pipe cleaners.
Wrap the bottom of the pipe cleaners with foil so they can be inserted into the cupcake. Make sure to glue the foil to the pipe cleaner so when they are pulled out the foil doesn't stay in the cupcake.

Carrot Strawberries

Dip Strawberries into orange chocolate candy melts and score with a tooth pick when they cooled ... The chocolate melts are colored orange not orange flavor. They actually taste like white chocolate.  fyi You can NOT add food coloring to the chocolate candy melts. The melts are oil based, food coloring is water based

Easter Bunny Cookie

Cheese Puff Carrots

Fill a cone shaped bag with cheesy puffs. I used a cake decorating bag.

Decorating Eggs doesn't always have to be the ones that come from a chicken. Let the kids decorate Egg shaped cookies.

Tie several of them together for a purposely not so sweet treat. Yea that is easier said then done. I used scotch tape to tape both the carrots and the twine, then covered up the tape with some Easter grass and the pom pom bunny.

Cut them out from patterned cardstock, that can be purchased OR print a pattern unto white card stock, cut them out and just add a bow.

Add Embellishments. For this one I made a simple Pom Pom Bunny and glued him to the side. Make sure when you are adding embellishments that you can still open and close the box.

Big Carrots and Bunnies

Big carrots and Bunnies are made from 2 Liter Pop (Soda) Bottles. Use just the carrot, just the bunnies or any combo to fit your space

Make Your Own Bunny Garden Instructions

Soda Pop Bottle Carrots
01
01

Paint a 2 Liter Pop Bottle white, add stiffen burlap for ears any oblong shape you'd like. From there you can decorate her anyway you want. I used felt for her bow and apron, Googly eyes and pom poms for her face and a black marker for accents.

02
02

Don't forget her tail. I used Jute I twisted around cardboard to make a pom pom. "But" pom poms or cotton balls would work too.

03

Really Big Carrots. Cut a 2 Liter Pop Bottle at any length and paint it orange. Optional I glued Jute around it to make the circles

press to zoom
04
04

Glue green stiffen burlap to the top. Long and narrow strips no pattern they are all different. Note the longer the leaves the stiffer the burlap needs to be. Use more Mod Podge to make burlap stiffer

press to zoom
05
05

Cut triangular scrap pieces for not only decoration but to help support the burlap upright. If you still find the burlap flopping over to far use longer scrap pieces like an L-Bracket

These are two separate pieces. Trying to glue then together proved futile. Note: Lots of Hot Glue even if it's a cool melt glue gun will melt a plastic pop bottle

Soda Pop Bottle Bunny
Bunny Garden From Soda Pop Bottles

You will need:

2 Liter Pop/Soda Bottles

Paint
Knife
Glue Gun

EVERYTHING else is whatever you want.

I used Stiffen Burlap (See My Craft Page as to How To Cut and Stiffen Burlap) but you could use Felt or foam board or even construction paper. I used Felt for Bows and Aprons but again you can use whatever you have on hand. For the face I used googly eyes, pom poms and jute but you could just paint one on.

There isn't a pattern for any of it. Greenery for carrots are long strips of burlap none are the same. Bunny ears are basically pointed ovals but they are all different shapes and sizes. * Cut 2 at a time for 1 Bunny. You don't really want one bunny to have 2 different ears but other then that you can't mess them up.

I set them up in my house on the coffee table, so I wanted a 360 degree view.

Burlap Bunny Napkin Rings
Carrot Napkins Rings

Cut empty Toilet Paper Rolls into 1"-2" rings, paint them orange and add green burlap to make leaves. You now have Carrot Napkin Rings to add to your display.

Or cover the them with burlap and add ears and you have Bunny Napkin Rings

No Sew Bunnies

How to make a No Sew Bunny

Whether you want your ears long or short, unfinished edges or glued seams. You need a Bunny Base to start.

Step by Step Instructions for your Bunny Base

Add embellishments to make him your own

Add Pom Poms and Googley Eyes for a crafty character look. Kids love these.

01
01

You will need. 1 Crew Sock, Rice enough to fill a Solo Cup 3/4 full, twine and a rubber band and an additional Solo Cup (Optional)

press to zoom
02
02

The crew socks I got at Dollar Tree 3 PAIR for $1. Cut the ribbed calf off for small ear bunnies

press to zoom
03
03

I cut the bottom off a Solo cup and use it as a funnel to put the rice into the sock. You don't need it I just find it helps.

press to zoom
04
04

Place the funnel into the sock

press to zoom
05
05

Pour 3/4 of a Solo cup full of rice into the sock. Measurements do not have to be precise. If you want a larger bunny use more, smaller bunny use less. Doesn't have to be all rice, you can use beans, cat liter (in a bag), aquarium rocks etc. OR any of the above just in the bottom for weight and fill the rest with polyfil

press to zoom
06
06

Tie off the top of your bunny where the rice stops, so what will be ears stick out the top. I use a rubber band to tie it off so it's tight and secure. Then I tie a piece of twine over it because over time the rubber band may weaken. Use a little glue on the knot to secure.

press to zoom
07
07

Shape the body of the bunny into two sections. They don't have to be even. Keep in mind the top section will be the head and the bottom will be the body

press to zoom
08
08

Tie a piece of twine tightly around the the mid section to define the head and body

press to zoom
09
09

Standing upright it should look something like this

press to zoom

Add Burlap, painted glue dots, twine and a little blush for a more Farmhouse look

Add felt eyes and nose along with the twine and a rustic looking carrot (Dollar Tree) for a combination of the 2.
